THE MYSTERIES OF THE ARENI CAVE
In the summer of 2007, a joint e.rpedition made up of e.rperts from Armenia. the USA and Ireland. under the leadership of Boris Casparian (Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia), Grigory Areshian (University of California Cotsen Institute of Archaeology) and Ron Pinchasi (University College Cork, National University of Ireland), who were researching the Stone Age in Armenia, started excavating in /he Vayoc Dzor area by the village of Areni, near the town of Yeghegnadzor_ The archaeologists Diana ZARDARIAN and Boris GASPAR/AN write abow their unexpected findings in one of /he caves in 1he area, known as the 'Birds Caire'․
